The Illuminis Regatta is the third event for the 2022 RS Vareo Rooster National Tour and will be hosted by Milton Keynes Sailing Club (MKSC). It will also be this year’s Inland Championship for the class.

The Vareo fleet will be augmented by local sailors of other asymmetric dinghies.

MKSC is located on Caldecotte Lake close to the M1 with easy road links from across the country.

Training Day 24th June

Once again we are thrilled to also provide a training day on the day before the event with the legendary Pete Vincent.  Please sign up at EventBrite

Pete has asked attendees to be rigged and ready for an 11am start and we will finish around 6pm.

The training day is free for competitors and lunch will be provided.

Competitor Information

We are planning for 4 races on Saturday and 3 on Sunday with a Fish and Chip supper for competitors and volunteers on Saturday evening.

Briefing on Saturday will be at 11.30 am and we hope to have the prize giving at 14.30 on Sunday to allow travellers to get home in good time. Download Standard RS SIs Download Supplementary SIs

No spinnaker?  No problem!

This year there will be a trophy for the first RS Vareo sailing without a spinnaker, so if you’re one of our river sailors you will be VERY welcome.

For those who are not sure that they have the skills needed to sail in an open meeting here’s some video of our MD Paul from the 2017 event. Not his finest hour but he mostly kept his sense of humour!

This is a really good chance to dip your toe in the water (rather than your whole body like Paul). Milton Keynes is easy to get to, we are a small inland water and the previous events have been very friendly with lots of support for all competitors in getting more from their Vareo. Come on… give it a go.
